At the start of the summer holidays I asked Owen what he wanted to do before going back to school. He said “Ride 75km”. After that I started getting adverts on social media for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity’s Summer Challenge of “31 miles in August”. As Birmingham Children’s Hospital looked after him so well a few years ago when he was quite ill, it seemed like the ideal challenge for Owen.

He is going to do his 31 miles on his bike (although we are not going to include Cycle Speedway riding), which should be fairly easy for him. I just need to fix his mountain bike, and make time to ride with him. We are also going away towards the end of the month, so do not have too much time…
