Proud dad alert! After asking for snowboard lessons for his tenth birthday Owen has completed them, and been signed off to ride on his own at the Snowdome! This has proved to be a more expensive exercise than anticipated, as I have been joining Owen on the slope, but my twenty plus year old snowboard kit has been failing and needed to be replaced. But being able to ride down from the top of the Snowdome with him earlier today was priceless!

Our next time out on the slope it will be without an instructor – we are going to choose a quieter session, as Saturday mornings are very busy, and I think Owen would do better when he can focus on his own riding, rather than also navigating other slope users. I can also feel the mountains calling…
