Cheeky

William posing for the camera (Lewis Craik)

I don’t normally take pictures of kids, but as we were with some friends for an early Xmas meal and this little chap was in a cheeky mood I thought I’d get the camera out and see if he would pose for me. He went a bit shy at first, but this image really captures his personality, Mum and Dad seem to be pleased with it too!

Fiat 500 – iPhone

After washing Jen’s 500 I decided to take a quick picture of it on my iPhone and post it to Flickr/Twitter.

Rather annoyingly within a few hours it had more views than all the pictures of my new MX-5, although that was possibly something to do with a retweet from Polished Bliss.

The little Fiat will be getting a proper photoshoot soon though.

New MX-5

Things have been a bit quiet on the blog recently, mainly because of all the travelling I’ve been doing, and partly because of my new toy!

After my old MX-5 died, the logical choice was to get a new one and I’m enjoying it even more than I thought I would! I’m sure there will be even more pictures of it on this blog in the coming months…

Wheat Field

Wheat Field in the evening sunshine, Flecknoe, Warwickshire. June 2011

This image is from an evening walk near the village of Flecknoe in Warwickshire, as it was such a lovely evening it would have been rude not to go out with the camera. I really liked how the green of the young wheat and blue sky were so vivid in the evening light.

Fruit Juices

I was in Barcelona a few weeks back, this market, just off the Ramblas was one of my highlights. There was all sorts of fresh and brightly coloured produce, from fish to cheeses, but the stalls that caught my eye photographically were the fruit stands which all seemed to do a sideline in fruit juices.

Of course, I had to make sure that the juices tasted as good as they looked and can confirm that the coconut and mango certainly was!

Arbroath Signal Tower

When I’m visiting family in Perth, Scotland I usually take a trip over to the harbour town of Arbroath in Angus, mainly to get Arbroath Smokies (a very tasty local speciality of smoked haddock) but also because its really photogenic, it’s a small harbour surrounded by brightly coloured buildings, there are sea defences being battered by the waves and the subject of this shot – the signal tower museum, although this image is black and white the building is white with red details, which always seems to go down well in photographic competitions.

For more images of the harbour, signal tower and sea defences have a look at my Arbroath album on Flickr.

Rogues Gallery

Something I have been meaning to do for a while is to get a rogues gallery in my office of people that I don’t really see enough, so after collecting some prints (at the same time as a processed roll of Velvia!) from the lab, some frames from Ikea and a few hours cutting/sticking I have the following 4 pictures on my office wall of some people who are important to me.
